What is another year of "getting by" really costing you?

Everyday life

The admin you dread, the doctor you can't quite explain things to, the neighbours you smile at but never really talk to. Life in France stays one step removed.

The people you love

Your partner's family, the in-jokes at dinner, your children slipping into French while you catch every third word. The distance is quiet, but you feel it.

The deadline

DELF, A-Level, a visa or residency requirement: the date doesn't move. Every month of "I'll start soon" is a month less to be ready.

You already know what staying where you are costs. The real question is: for how much longer?

Does this sound familiar?

The problem isn't your level. It's everything your level quietly costs you: connection, confidence, and the life you want in French.

You freeze mid-conversation

You understand plenty, but when it's your turn the words scatter and you reach for English instead.

They answer you in English

You try in French; they switch to English to be kind. It's well meant, and it quietly stops you improving.

You're not yourself in French

Warm, funny and sharp in English, flattened to simple sentences in French. Your personality doesn't come through.

The apps didn't fix it

Duolingo, textbooks, evening classes: you've tried it all, and the real problem, speaking with confidence, is still there.

What actually changes

1

Real conversations

You take part without translating in your head. The words come because we drill the real situations you actually face.

2

Life in France, handled

Admin, appointments, phone calls, small talk with neighbours: the everyday stops being an ordeal.

3

Closer to the people who matter

Dinner with your partner's family, a proper chat with the in-laws, keeping up with your children in French.

4

Ready for the exam

Grammar that finally makes sense, exam technique, and the confidence to perform on the day: DELF, DALF, A-Level, GCSE.

How it fits into your life

No need to reorganise everything. The programme slots into the schedule you already have.

Selma, French coach © Alexandre David

Your coach, in your corner.

Bonjour ! I'm a native French speaker, born and raised in France, and I've spent the last 9 years teaching French at a well-known school in London. Before that I worked at UNESCO and trained in translation and AI, and I speak five languages myself, so I know from the inside exactly what it feels like to learn one from scratch. That's a big part of how I teach.

I help English speakers of all ages get to a place where French actually feels doable. Maybe you want it for daily life, for work, for an exam like DELF, A-Level, GCSE or CNED, or just for the quiet pleasure of speaking it well. Whatever it is, I know where English speakers tend to get stuck, and I know how to get you unstuck: real spoken French, grammar that finally makes sense, and the confidence to open your mouth and actually use it.

Every session is built around you, your goals, your level, your real life. I make my own materials, I teach the French that people genuinely speak, and I care about you as a person, not a name on a client list. My lessons are relaxed and interactive, a proper safe space to make mistakes and just be yourself. No forced small talk about the weather, unless the weather is your thing.

Is this for you?

This isn't for you if…

  • You want casual French with no real goal in mind
  • You're looking for the cheapest option, whatever the results
  • You want a magic method with no effort on your side
  • You can't set aside a few hours a week

This is for you if…

  • You have a real reason: living in France, family, an exam, work
  • You're ready to speak, make mistakes and be corrected
  • You want results you can use in real life, fast
  • You can commit a few hours a week to your progress

Every student starts with a free 30-minute discovery call. I assess your level, understand your goal, and tell you whether a programme is right for you, and which one. Free, no obligation.

Before you book

I've tried courses and apps before. Why would this be different?
Generic apps and courses teach "textbook" French. Here, every session is built around your real French: the situations you actually face, the vocabulary you actually need, and the way French people genuinely speak. It's the difference between learning to swim from a book and learning in the pool.
How much time will it take each week?
Around 4 hours a week for the Accelerator: two one-hour coaching sessions, one 30-minute conversation session, and roughly 1.5 hours of personal work in between (exercises, revision, applying it to real life). It's a demanding but realistic pace, and that pace is exactly what makes real progress possible.
How soon will I see results?
Most people notice a shift within the first two weeks: more fluency, less hesitation, words coming more naturally. The deeper change, real confidence in conversation, usually lands between weeks 6 and 10.
Why online rather than in person?
Online gives you more flexibility, no travel time, and every session is recorded so you can review it. It also works beautifully for language learning: you practise little and often, from wherever you are in the world, and keep the momentum going between sessions.
Is it right for my specific goal?
Yes. Whatever you're aiming for, whether an exam (DELF, DALF, TEF, A-Level, GCSE), moving to or living in France, a French-speaking partner or family, travel, or work, I build the programme around it. The free discovery call is exactly where we pin down your goal and calibrate the programme to it.
I think I'm a bit below A2. Is that a problem?
Not at all. The Transformation programme is built to start from beginner level (A1/A2), so if you're just starting out, it's exactly right for you. In our free 30-minute discovery call I'll confirm the right level and programme with you before you commit to anything.
Can my employer pay for it?
Often, yes. Many employers cover language training in full or in part, especially where French matters for your role. I can provide a detailed invoice and the documents you need to support your request. Just ask on the discovery call.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, interest-free. Accelerator can be split into 2× £1,250 and Transformation into 2× £2,350. Just let me know and I'll set it up.
What if I need to cancel or move a session?
Life happens. Cancellations and reschedules are free up to 24 hours before the session, just let me know. Inside 24 hours the session is counted, as the slot usually can't be rebooked at such short notice. It's all set out in the terms you receive when you sign up.
What if I can't keep up the pace?
The programme is designed for busy people, not full-time students. Sessions alternate between coaching (60 min) and conversation (30 min), the exercises fit around your real life, and I keep you on track with personal follow-up. The quick wins in the first weeks naturally build the motivation to keep going.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, my Progress Guarantee. If you keep up your side of the work (attending sessions and doing the exercises) and there's no measurable progress against your initial assessment by the halfway point, I keep coaching you at no extra cost until there is. My commitment is your progress, not just hours of lessons. See the full terms.
Can I change my mind after signing up?
Yes. As a consumer you have a legal 14-day cooling-off period after signing up: you can cancel without giving a reason and be fully refunded. If you choose to start sessions during that period, only the sessions already taken are counted, pro rata, should you cancel. A simple email to info@languageintuition.com is enough.
Are the programmes refundable?
After the 14-day cooling-off period, programmes aren't generally refundable, other than under the Progress Guarantee or where the law provides. If I were ever unable to continue coaching you, every session not yet taken would be refunded in full. Your consumer rights are protected in all cases.
How long do I have to use my sessions?
Your sessions stay valid for 6 months from your first one. That's a comfortable margin beyond the normal length of the programme (about 3 to 4 months), designed to protect the intensity and consistency that make the method work. If something serious comes up (illness, a major disruption), an exceptional extension can be arranged on request.
Where can I see the full terms?
The full terms (booking, payment, session validity, cancellation, cooling-off, Progress Guarantee and data protection) are provided before you sign up, and you accept them when you enrol. You can ask me for them any time at info@languageintuition.com, before or after signing up. Read the Terms & Conditions.
How do I actually get started?
With a free, no-obligation discovery call. We review your level, your goals and your situation, and I recommend the programme that fits best, or point you elsewhere if it's not the right time. It's also a chance to see whether we click: coaching runs over several weeks, so it's worth starting off on the right foot together.
